Can the Indy Racing League (IRL or IndyCar Series) survive on its own even after the CART merger? 2009 will be a complete season, but 2010…
With the combination of the 2 open wheel series, can the new league field 20 cars in these poor economic times? Those teams were already in financial distress before the combination, and now the loss of sponsorships will make it worse for 2009.
You have experienced drivers out of racing, Justin Wilson, Ryan Hunter-Reay, and Sebastian Bourdais to name a few. Some will crossover into other forms of racing, for example ALMS and Grand American.

F1, Formula1, has lost Honda. Honda was falling by the waste side. With all the money that Honda spent on research and development, you would think they could stay ahead of Red Bull. This goes to show how strong the Ferrari engines if Red Bull can surpass Honda.
With Honda gone, F1 is left with Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault, BMW Sauber, and Toyota. Wondering minds want to know, “who’s next?!” Ferrari has already stated they will leave if F1 becomes more standardized, meaning engines and chassis specs across the board. Toyota is finally making advancement. My guess: Williams
